Stone Church pf England Combined School

'Love one another as I have loved you' (John 13:34-35) Helping each other to reach for the stars

Working With You

At our school, we place a strong emphasis on maintaining positive relationships with our parents and we firmly believe in the importance of working together to support your child's education. Our open-door policy means that we are always here to listen to your feedback, concerns and questions.

If you have any worries or queries, your first point of contact should be your child's classroom teacher. You may schedule meetings or telephone calls with the teacher through the school office or by emailing the class email address. Please bear in mind that the class email is not monitored constantly, so urgent matters should be addressed directly through the office.

Should your concern require further attention, the next step would be to liaise with our key stage leaders. For SEN (Special Educational Needs) concerns, we recommend initiating discussions with the class teacher initially, followed by a consultation with our SENDCo, Ms. G Anderson.

Parent's Evening

We hold two parents' evenings each year, one in the Autumn term and the other in the Spring term. These evenings provide an opportunity for you to discuss your child's academic and social progress with their teacher. You will also receive a report detailing their progress data and targets for improvement. Additionally, you will have the chance to review your child's workbooks.

Please bear in mind that parents' evenings are not suitable for addressing significant issues. We encourage you to reach out to the school to arrange a separate meeting if required.

Homework is distributed weekly via Google Classroom on Fridays and are due back on Wednesdays. We operate a homework club to provide support to children who are unable to complete their homework at home. While homework expectations vary by year group, we do suggest that all children read to an adult at least three times a week, understanding the demands on family time.

Please find our Homework Policy on our Policy Page

Lost Property

We have a designated lost property box and unclaimed items are displayed every half term on the playground. To help us manage lost property efficiently, please ensure that all your child's belongings, including uniforms, coats, water bottles, and lunchboxes, are clearly labelled with their name.

School Dinners

School meals are provided by Innovate Catering.

School meals, prepared by Innovate Catering, are offered at £2.50 per day for Key Stage 2 children (Years 3-6). Children in Key Stage 1 receive free school meals.

Meals must be booked and paid for in advance.

Complaint procedures

We believe that Stone Church of England Combined School continuously aspires to deliver outstanding education for all of our children. We work very hard to build positive relationships with all involved in our school community. However, the School is obliged to have procedures in place in case there are complaints about your child's education.

If you have a concern about your child in school we strongly encourage you to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss this concern. If you feel your concern has not been resolved please do make an appointment with our key stage leaders or Mrs R Seivwright (Deputy Headteacher and Inclusion Manager) who will endeavour to support you. If you still feel your concern is still unresolved please request an appointment with the Headteachers.

If, after liaison with the school, you still feel dissatisfied with the support your child is receiving you may choose to make a formal complaint.

If you would like to make a complaint we would refer you to our school Complaints Policy which outlines the complaints process. You will find the Complaints Policy in the Policy section of the school website or you can request a copy from the school office.
