Our Reading Journey 

The purpose of our Reading Journey is to outline the carefully curated Storytime map we have here at Stone School. In order to offer a diverse and enriching literary experience for our students, we have thoughtfully selected texts that they will encounter throughout each academic year. This journey is not exhaustive and the children will also hear other texts throughout the year and other subjects.

SATs

During May, Year 6 children sit an end of key stage assessment called SATs. These assessments provide insights into your child's progress and attainment at the end of Key Stage 2.

Here at Stone Primary School, we pride ourselves on offering an ambitious curriculum that supports and challenges our students to reach their full potential. We believe in ensuring that children are making progress in line with their capabilities and SATs are one of the tools used to measure this progress.

We want to reassure you that while we will be supporting the children with teaching to prepare for the SATs, we do not believe in teaching to the tests. Our curriculum remains rich and diverse, offering a broad range of learning experiences that go beyond what is tested in these assessments. Our aim is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed academically and personally.

Transition to Secondary School 

Transitioning from Primary school to Secondary school is indeed a significant milestone in your child's educational journey and we are committed to ensuring that the transition is smooth and successful.

Your child will visit their new secondary school in July.
