MFL (Modern Foreign Languages)
What Does Modern Foreign Languages Look Like at Stone C of E Combined School?
French is the designated Modern Foreign Language (MFL) at Stone C of E Combined School. We believe the learning of foreign languages provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for children. By developing communication and literacy skills, children develop the essential foundations required to learn languages, whilst also reinforcing the skills required for learning English. We believe an insight into their own culture and those of others enables them to broaden their knowledge and become more tolerant citizens.
Children learn French from Year 3 to Year 6. Please refer to the progression document for information regarding coverage in each year group.
