What Does Computing Look Like at Stone C of E Combined School?

At Stone, we teach computing using the ‘Switched on Computing’ scheme. The scheme is designed to ensure children access “a high-quality computing education that equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.” The scheme develops pupils’ understanding of the concepts, practices and perspectives that underpin programming and other aspects of computer science.

We encourage learning through experimenting, discussion and collaboration when using technology to enhance the children’s learning and improve their confidence. Computing skills are taught in both discrete sessions and across the curriculum. E-safety plays a fundamental role in how we deliver computing and is taught in all units to ensure children are aware of how to use technology safely.
