What Does Citizenship Look Like at Stone C of E Combined School?

At Stone, Citizenship, is an important part of the curriculum. This subject allows all children to begin to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe. Through interactive and engaging lessons, the children are asked to contribute to discussions regarding a variety of different topics.

The children are given lots of opportunities to discuss any worries and develop the vital skills of collaboration, teamwork and negotiation. During Citizenship lessons, the children in all year groups are encouraged to think about a range of issues and how they can help to resolve or prevent these within our school community but also the wider communities within which they live. Our Citizenship lessons take place weekly during Class Assemblies.
